Skybox Construction

What Is a General Contractor and What Do They Do?

When deciding to build or remodel your home or business, a General Contractor is the main point of contact that coordinates and executes the project. The General Contractor ensures the renderings of architects, engineers, and interior designers are brought to life.

The GC and their construction company enters the Primary Contract with the property owner(s) to direct and manage the completion of the project per the primary contract.

General Contractors bring all trades (e.g. plumbing, electrical, tiling, demolition, and etc.) together to accomplish your build or remodel. This is why communication and organization is key. Consequently, the GC and their construction team takes on the liability of all aspects of the construction including the Subcontractors of the many trades needed to complete the project. Therefore, the General Contractor bears the full responsibility of the project as defined in the Primary Contract with the Client.

Which is also why Skybox Construction is fully insured, licensed, and bonded for our Client’s protection as well as ours.

Although it sounds like all the work lies solely at the project site, Skybox Construction will provide the initial construction services like preparing labor and material costs from Subcontractors and vendors. We work closely with engineers, architects , and designers to ensure accurate completion of the project that is up to all building codes. As required for almost all projects, we also work with City Officials to acquire design reviews, building permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy.
